Welcome back fans!
Hi fans it is Andre Payette here welcoming you to the new Vipers web site. We hope that you like it and that it brings you closer to the fans. Myself and the players will be making blog posts over the course of the season so keep a look out for them.
It has been another hard working close season for the Vipers and our staff. The off ice team have been working putting things into place for the new season from obtaining players work permits and visas to acquiring sponsorship and setting up the forthcoming seasons Marketing and business plans. It is crazy how much stuff goes on behind the scenes that people don’t see.
For me the summer has been spent at the gym and a couple of weeks back in Ottawa running my ice hockey camps with Derek Campbell. We also spent a few days with the coach in Toronto where he has been based with new assistant Andrew Verner putting together this season’s squad.
I’m really excited about the season coming up and the team we have put together. Rob, Vern and Jaimie have put together a good team full of commitment and skill and I believe that this is going to be the best season ever for Vipers fans, well the most exciting anyway!
Around the league it has been interesting to see how other teams have been shaping up, there is certainly a lot more physical player being brought back into the league and hats off to Strachan at Hull who is putting together a team that will certainly entertain, those games will be very interesting indeed.
Well that is enough from me for now, I’m back off to the gym and I’ll speak to you all soon.
